Get Ready to Dance at the Y!
Classes start Tuesday, September 2nd
Many of you may or may not know but Ms. Natalia did have her baby recently. With this, we ask you please keep all questions and concerns to Kaitlyn Adams (infodance@hopcoymca.com) or Angela Carter (angela.carter@hopcoymca.com)
REMINDERS FOR NEXT WEEK
- Check the class schedule posted around the front entrance; some classrooms have moved due to demand/size after registration. All classrooms are upstairs. Staff will be around to help direct you!
- Know your child's check out number.
- If you were not given one at registration or do not remember it, please text the Remind app OR email (infodance@hopcoymca.com) for your child's number.
- Tuition will auto-draft on the 1st of the month.
- Tuition must be paid before dancers can attend class. We appreciate your understanding!
- PLEASE BE DANCER-READY FOR CLASS!
- Correct attire & shoes for style of dance.
- No street shoes on the dance floor. No dance shoes on the street!
- Hair up completely up out of the face BEFORE class starts.
- No drinks or food besides water.
- Positive attitude
- Ready to learn and dance!
- No Jewlery
- No Smart Watches!
- Parents, please review basic classroom rules with your child before class starts:
- Listening while teacher is talking
- Hands to ourselves
- Trying out best
- Positive attitude
- Please take your child to the restroom BEFORE class starts.
ARRIVAL / PICK-UP:
- Y MEMBERS: Scan your card @ Front Desk; NON MEMBERS: Stop by the front desk to sign guest waiver
- ALL STUDENTS (MEMBER AND NON MEMBER) WILL BE GIVEN A CARD TO SCAN EACH CLASS! This card will be just for the student in class, not other family members.
- Students should arrive no more than 10 minutes early to class. If dropped off early: 1) parents must attend child until class starts, 2) may not interrupt/observe classes that are in session.
- If your child is in a Combo, ballet is always first...put those shoes on first!
- Remember, dancers need to have Velcro, slip-on, or be able to tie their own shoes for hip hop!
- Please do not come upstairs to collect your child until right before class dismissal, so we do not distract classes. We will let them go right on time!
- Have check-out number ready for teacher.
- Dancers over the age of 12 will be released from class without a parent to escort them; please make sure you are communicating with your child to wait inside the building until you are ready to pick them up.
ALL WEDNESDAY STUDENTS ONLY:
- ALL Wednesday students will MEET in the Intergern Room, downstairs with staff! Staff will escort children upstairs!
- AFTER CLASS, parents will meet in by the restroom hallway, downstairs. Single file line while staff brings the children down for check out!
BALLET SLIPPERS:
- Strings should be cut to 1-2 inches in length, knotted, and tucked in. They will NOT stay tied at full length. Please go ahead and cut strings before class, so that students are not distracted the whole class with untied shoes.
TEXT ALERTS:
- Anyone responsible for getting your child to and from class should be signed up!
- You will not receive messages if you do not have the app!! Please Download the App!

SHOE PICK-UP:
- See dance staff before class starts to pick up shoe orders.
- We are no longer taking orders at this time!
T-SHIRT PICK-UP:
- T-Shirts will be distributed at your child's first class!
Review your info packet from registration!
Staff has been training the last three weeks, and we are so ready to be back with the kids!
